Our Story
The Pass is an initiative born out of lockdown with the goal of bringing our favourite restaurants into our homes. Having watched on helplessly as the entire restaurant industry was forced to shut up shop indefinitely, we felt a strong desire to use our newfound spare time during lockdown to help in any small way we could. Inspired by the nation's refreshed love of cooking, and looking for a way to support an industry that had given us so much over the years, we decided to launch The Pass as a single destination where people could discover recipes from the nation's top restaurants, find out which have launched recipe boxes or hot food delivery, and uncover the finest suppliers in the UK to cook with the same top quality ingredients their favourite restaurants use.

We've been humbled by the response from the industry and public alike and cannot wait to see how far we can take this.
Our longer term mission is to bring restaurant quality food to the world's tables. We've got some really exciting plans to achieve that mission, and can't wait to share more with you very soon.
Fundraising for the Industry
The Pass has been built by a small group of food lovers as a way of giving back to an industry that has given us so much. While we wanted to make access completely free for everyone, we are encouraging people to donate whatever they can in exchange for this 'ever evolving cookbook', with all funds raised going directly to those who need it most.
50% of all proceeds will be donated to the Hospitality Action Covid-19 Fundraiser, raising money for hospitality industry workers badly affected by the crisis. 50% will be donated to the restaurants supporting this initiative, to help them and their staff while the industry remains indefinitely shut.

So please, if you like what we've built, or enjoy a recipe from one of our partners, donate whatever you can to help keep our restaurants serving now and into the future.

Who are we?
Alex Lazare - Head Chef
Although I've worked as a strategy consultant for the entirety of my career, I've always felt a pull towards the hospitality industry. After seeing the effects of lockdown through the eyes of good friends working in the sector, I decided to launch The Pass as a way of supporting the industry while also inspiring the nation (and myself!) to cook and access the food we are all are missing so much in our own homes.
&us - Web Build
&us is a new kind of consultancy: a community of coaches, problem-solvers, designers and activists who want to change the way the world works. We've helped organisations like The Post Office, Novartis, River Island and Sue Ryder work leaner and braver, and innovate smarter. Working on The Pass has been a superstar team of co-founder (and general industry provocateur) Rob Isaacs alongside designer Nouhou Basekonda.
Chris Trotman, Run For The Hills - Brand Design
I am the co-founder of Run For The Hills, a design studio that specialises in hospitality, and we have seen the devastating impact this awful virus has had on our industry first hand. So when this project came about we jumped at the chance to be involved, to help support the industry we know and love. I have been working closely with designer Rita Nicolau in our graphics team to help bring the vision to life.
Sean Geraghty, Fare Studio - Web Design
As a self-confessed foodie, wannabe-chef, and the founder of Fare – a design studio focussed on *good* food – I'm keen to support an industry that I care deeply about, collapsing under the pressure of this pandemic.
Leo Feldman, Shelley Sandzer – Restaurant Partnerships
Having spent 10 years working closely with businesses in hospitality, helping them to grow and making many great friends along the way, I was keen to do something which could help the industry in its moment of need. Bringing the nation’s favourite restaurants to The Pass is a great way for people to learn to cook the dishes they love at home
Partners
We'd particularly like to thank all our original restaurant partners who supported this initiative at inception by kindly giving of their IP, their recipes, in order to inspire a nation of home cooks and show their support for their industry.
