Sardine opened in July 2016 with a focus on Southern French cooking over a custom-built charcoal fire. Run by Alex Jackson, former Head Chef at Stevie Parle's Dock Kitchen and Rotorino restaurants, it offered simple, homely, Southern French cooking to the growing communities of City Road, between Old Street and Islington.
Sadly, Sardine was forced to shut its doors for good in June 2020 as a result of the Coronavirus induced lockdown.
